Failure to recognize and address a posterolateral corner injury may be a predisposing factor. A correct diagnosis requires an accurate history as well as an appreciation of the subtleties of a complete knee examination. If revision surgery is indicated, we prefer an anatomic technique utilizing an Achilles tendon allograft reconstruction of the fibular collateral ligament and posterolateral corner.
