Thoracic Surgery, Video-Assisted
This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: The primary objective of this review will be to determine whether the use of antiarrhythmic medications before or during pulmonary surgery is associated with a reduction in the rate of postoperative atrial tachyarrhythmia and mortality as compared to placebo. Our secondary objectives will be to determine the effect of antiarrhythmic medications on the following outcome(s) after pulmonary surgery: 1. pulmonary complications, 2. myocardial ischaemia, 3. myocardial infarction, 4. ventricular arrhythmias and 5. hypotension and bradycardia.
