A New Hope for a New Year. Editorial Article uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • Happy New Year! Time flies, paradoxically it seems even faster the older we all get. It seems just yesterday that I was writing the editorial to begin my tenure as Editor-in-Chief. Now, one year later, so much has changed, politically, in public health and society, all of which continue to evolve at a breakneck pace. As we negotiate these tides of change, I hope that this coming year brings us more peace, less discord and better health for our country and for the world. Despite the challenges, for LT this has been a phenomenal year. Our expanded scope in liver failure has broadened our authorship and readership without compromising the foundations of the journal in liver surgery, organ preservation, and immunosuppression. Our submissions have increased both in quantity and in quality, allowing us to bring a wider array of topics related to liver failure, liver surgery and liver transplantation both in terms of clinical science and basic research. I was so pleased to see that our top cited and downloaded papers, which you can check out @LTxJournal, were in the areas of liver failure and management of ESL and HCC.
