  • Nicotine promotes angiogenesis via stimulation of nAChR-dependent endothelial cell migration. Furthermore, growth factor-induced HMVEC migration, a key angiogenesis event, requires nAChR activation--an effect mediated in part by nAChR-dependent regulation of thioredoxin activity.
