  • Lower normal tissue doses and improved target coverage, primarily in the retropharynx, skull base, and nodal regions, were achieved using IMRT. IMRT could potentially improve locoregional control and toxicity at current dose levels or facilitate dose escalation to further enhance locoregional control.
