abstract

  • GKRS is a safe and effective therapy in selected patients with pituitary adenomas. None of the patients in our study experienced injury to the optic apparatus. A radiation dose higher than 15 Gy is probably needed to improve control of hormone-secreting adenomas. Longer follow-up is required for a more complete assessment of late toxicity and treatment efficacy.
