Water-jet dissection in hepatic surgery
A new high velocity water-jet dissector is reported which offers significant advantages over previously developed ultrasonic and low pressure water-jet machines in hepatic resections. It has been successfully used in 21 patients requiring hepatic resection and four patients undergoing biliary-enteric bypass procedures with minimal blood loss, excellent visibility and without complication. Its extension into other situations requiring parenchymal dissection is possible and its use in laparoscopic procedures is now being assessed. © 1992 Informa UK Ltd All rights reserved: reproduction in whole or part not permitted.
