abstract

  • The uterine blush describes the scintigraphic appearance of radionuclide accumulation within the uterus. This finding, described as occurring during the early (i.e., vascular) phase of studies performed with Tc-99m labeled compounds, is a normal physiologic phenomenon and should not be misinterpreted as indicative of a pathologic process. We recently noted the uterine blush on early (30 minutes postinjection) In-111 labeled leukocyte images performed on a 38-year-old woman with a history of inflammatory bowel disease.
