abstract

  • The authors report that human memory cells, generated in a longterm primary mixed lymphocyte culture (MLC), cytolytically active T cells (CTL) when treated with sodium periodate (NaIO4), thus bypassing alloantigen requirements. In contrast, treatment of unprimed peripheral blood lymphocytes with NaIO4 fails to induce the generation of CTL, despite the blastogenesis induced by such treatment.
