abstract

  • This report reviews the results of prospective endoscopic study in a group of patients with cancer and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Endoscopy was used to diagnose the source of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in 65 patients. It is considered that upper gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with cancer often derives from sources other than the actual neoplasm. The source of bleeding is best determined by endoscopy which is requisite to appropriate therapy.
