abstract

  • Experience with 4 patients in whom testicular tumors developed in cryptorchid testes is presented. Two patients had proved inguinal lymph node metastasis. Because of the surgical alteration in the lymphatic drainage of the testis, it is suggested that the ipsilateral inguinal region be included in the therapeutic program. For seminoma, this area is included in the radiation portals and for the radioresistant tumors, prophylactic unilateral superficial and deep inguinal lymph node dissection is performed in addition to retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy.
