Yongkang Zhang, PhD is an Assistant Professor in Population Health Sciences in the Division of Health Policy and Economics. His research uses large-scale secondary data to study healthcare utilization, spending, and outcomes among high-need, high-cost patients. His research has leveraged various types of data sources, including administrative claims (Medicare fee-for-service, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercially insured), EHR data (from a single institution or multi-institutional data from Clinical Research Networks), social determinants of health data (at the individual and neighborhood levels), and prescription data (e.g., Medicare Part D). Dr. Zhang joined the Division in 2017.
