Resaerch interest is targeted to the study of pulmonary gas exchange especially in quantitating the distribution of ventilation, blood flow and the diffusing capacity in causing hypoxemia in diseased lungs. This includes diseases such as COPD Interstitial lung disease, scoliosis and ARDS. Another area of interest is the control of breathing and the response to CO2 in different lung disorders. Most recently, studies have involved the mechanism of lung injury in the fat embolism syndrome
