Richard Bruckner   Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Bruckner has varied research interests within Pediatrics. One focus of his research is Pediatric Resident education and improvement. He has conducted a national survey of pediatric residents' training, clinical experience and confidence in resuscitation skills. He intends to repeat this study within the next year to assess for changes after the implementation of the current resident work hour regulations and increased utilization of medical simulation.

Dr. Bruckner also has interesets in Pediatric pain management. He developed and initiated a prospective, randomized, double-blinded, double-sham, placebo controlled cross-over trial of a needle-free lidocaine delivery device, versus topical lidocaine 4% analgesic cream for Mediport access. This study is currently enrolling patients.

Dr. Bruckner has also authored several review articles on topics that include "Car Safety" and "Barotrauma."
