Ravinder Mamtani, MD is a specialist in preventive medicine, occupational medicine, public health, lifestyle medicine and integrative medicine. Dr. Mamtani is a Professor of Population Health Sciences and Professor of Medicine (Centre for Global Health), Weill Cornell Medicine, New York (WCM). At WCM’s international campus in Qatar (WCM-Q), where he is a full-time faculty member, he serves as Vice-Dean for Population Health and Lifestyle Medicine. He is also a Professor of Community and Family Medicine (adjunct) at New York Medical College (NYMC), Valhalla, New York. A medical graduate, Dr. Mamtani received his post-graduate training in preventive medicine and public health in USA and UK

At Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Dr Mamtani directs & oversees the Institute for Population Health education, research, and community engagement programs and activities. He enjoys teaching and interacting with students, residents, and health professionals. He has founded, developed, and participated in innumerable continuing education programs in lifestyle medicine, population health and integrative health. His contributions to public health research and community engagement programs have been invaluable. He has actively collaborated with healthcare professionals and institutions throughout the world.

Prior to joining WCM-Q in 2007, Dr. Mamtani was a Professor of Community and Preventive Medicine and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College and a physician at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, where he also served as the Section Chief of Complementary Medicine and Medical Director of Occupational Medicine Center. He has several years of clinical experience in utilizing complementary and lifestyle medicine in the treatment of chronic diseases such as chronic pain, arthritis, certain mental health conditions, obesity, dyslipidemia  and gastrointestinal problems. He also provided clinical occupational medicine services to corporate employees.

Dr. Mamtani developed and directed the Master of Public Health (MPH) in International Health and the Diploma in Tropical Medicine programs while at New York Medical College. At WCM-Q, he has developed various innovative public health programs. He has also won several teaching awards during his career.

Dr. Mamtani is a diplomat of the American Board of Preventive Medicine in the specialties of general preventive medicine and public health, and occupational medicine. Additionally, he is US Board certified in Integrative Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Recently he was awarded the prestigious status of Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He has been an invited speaker on several occasions on various topics in the US and abroad and published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mamtani has edited books and several chapters on topics such as complementary medicine, lifestyle medicine, and Healthcare in the Gulf Cooperation Council States. 

Dr. Mamtani serves or has served on many government, hospital, and medical school committees. He is a member of the prestigious New York State Board of Professional Medical Conduct and is the past chair of the Global Educational Exchange in Medicine and the Health Professions (GEMx) Advisory Committee. GEMx is a service of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in Philadelphia, US, a world leader in promoting quality healthcare. Additionally, he is Vice Chair of the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine/Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance. In the State of Qatar, he serves on some government and healthcare system sponsored committees and is an honorary consultant in public health for the Ministry of Public Health.
