Research interests have centered on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of general anesthetic action, and more recently have expanded to include the development of novel, non-opiate-based antihyperalgesics for the treatment of neuropathic pain. The lab uses a wide variety of techniques, including molecular biology, protein chemistry, in silico modeling, and electrophysiology (including two-electrode voltage clamp and whole-cell patch clamp) to advance these studies.
