In addition to his private practice, Dr. Palekar is an Attending Psychiatrist in a specialized inpatient treatment program for patients with treatment-resistant psychosis.

Dr. Palekar received his Medical Degree from the University of Pune, India in 2003. He completed his psychiatry residency from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Palekar distinguished himself in academia and research and served as Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.

Prior to joining New York-Presbyterian hospital, Dr. Palekar worked as an Attending Psychiatrist at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a special focus in treating physicians and medical staff.
