Lisa M. Kern, MD, MPH, FACP is an Associate Professor of Medicine and of Healthcare Policy and Research at Weill Cornell Medical College.  Dr. Kern is a general internist and health services researcher whose work has focused on evaluation of interventions designed to improve healthcare delivery.  Dr. Kern’s research also focuses on advancing methods for measuring value in healthcare, including measures of healthcare fragmentation.  Dr. Kern has published more than 65 articles in the peer-reviewed, scientific literature.  She is currently the Principal Investigator of a 4-year $2.9 million R01 grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.  Dr. Kern received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard University.  She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and then completed the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Johns Hopkins University, where she also earned a master’s degree in Public Health.
