David P. Calfee   Professor of Medicine

Dr. Calfee’s research interests include the epidemiology and prevention of healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic resistance.& Specific research interests include the clinical and molecular epidemiology of multidrug-resistant bacteria (such as K. pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC)-producing Enterobacteriaceae and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA)), surgical site infections in solid organ transplant recipients, and prevention of vascular access-associated bloodstream infections in hemodialysis patients.
