I am a clinical pediatric hospitalist with scholarship focused on global health outcomes research and global health medical education. I am based at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City for my clinical/administrative and teaching responsibilities, and I conduct global health work with colleagues in East Africa.

My global health research has investigated post-hospital outcomes for children in low-income countries. We found that children in low-income countries have a very high risk for mortality after hospitalization. This led to implementing clinical interventions to save lives and expanding collaboration between academic institutions in conducting clinical research within East Africa.

My scholarship in global health medical education has focused on evaluating the impact and opportunities for trainees to engage in global health as well as develop peer-reviewed educational tools for global health teaching. I also serve on a national committee for global health educators - APPD Global Health Learning Community Steering Committee and am a global health teaching faculty with Cornell University undergraduates, medical students, and pediatric residents.
