As a physician-scientist, my career goal is to pursue research questions with high translational potential for curing patients with gastrointestinal cancers. Too often, I see patients succumb to cancer due to lack of effective treatment options. This clinical observation has motivated me to pursue research utilizing preclinical mouse models of pancreatic cancer to understand and develop immunological treatments. I conduct research in the field of cancer immunology with important clinical potential. My labwork focuses on understanding how tumor genotype can affect the immune microenvironment and ultimately cancer treatment.
