Christopher Triggle   Prof of Pharmacol


Chris R. Triggle, PhD, FBPhS, joined Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar (WCM-Q) in 2007 as Professor of Pharmacology. Dr. Triggle contributes to the medical education & research programs at WCM-Q and is funded by the Qatar National Research Fund for projects that focus on the role of the endothelium in the regulation of vascular function, vascular disease and diabetes. Dr. Triggle has published >165 peer-reviewed publications with citations in excess of 7000 and an h-index of 49. Collaborators include Dr. Hong Ding, WCM-Q and Professors Dora & Garland, University of Oxford, UK; Professor Hollenberg, University of Calgary, Canada; Professors Vanhoutte and Xu, University of Hong Kong. Dr. Triggle was born in Hackney, London, UK, and obtained a B.Sc. (Honours) in Biological Sciences, University of East Anglia and Ph.D. in Pharmacology, University of Alberta, Canada. Postdoctoral studies were completed in the Department of Biochemical Pharmacology, S.U.N.Y. in Buffalo, USA. Dr. Triggle has also held academic appointments in both Australia & Canada: the first Director of the Biotechnology Institute at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia; Head of the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Chair in Cardiovascular Research - Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, & Associate Dean Research Medicine at the University of Calgary, with prior positions in Canada with Memorial University of Newfoundland as Professor of Pharmacology & Associate Dean Basic Medical Sciences, as well as research advisory positions with Ciba and Novartis Canada and has chaired numerous peer review grant panels.
